How Chemical Facial Peel Works?

Procedure: the skin is thoroughly cleansed and primed with a degreaser to allow for even distribution to the skin surface cells – the peel application time is approximately 5-10 minutes. The amount of time that the peel remains on the skin depends on the sensitivity of the skin. Neutralizing, followed by removal, ensures that the skin surface is clean and ready for the hydrating masque. The treatment concludes with a restorative conditioning masque and a relaxing shoulder and neck massage.

Where Can Chemical Facial Peel Be Used?

The Velvet Chemical peel is ideal for the face or neck. The chemical peel benefits include:

  • Reduce fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth
  • Treat wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging
  • Improve the appearance of mild scars
  • Treat certain types of acne
  • Reduce age spots, freckles, and dark patches
  • Improve the look and feel of skin

Who Is a Good Candidate For a Chemical Facial Peel?

Generally, fair-skinned clients are better candidates for chemical peels. Darker-skinned clients can also benefit from chemical peels; however, more caution is necessary to avoid post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

What To Expect After the Chemical Peel

Depending upon the type of chemical peel, a reaction similar to sunburn occurs following the procedure. Redness is accompanied by peeling, followed by scaling that ends within three to seven days. Mild peels may be repeated at one to four-week intervals until you get the desired result.

Medium-depth and deep peeling may result in swelling as well as blisters that may break, crust, turn brown, and peel off over a period of seven to 14 days. Medium-depth peels may be repeated in six to 12 months, if necessary.

After treatment with a medium or deep peel, you may need bandages for several days on part or all of the skin. You'll need to avoid prolonged sun exposure for several days after a mild peel and several months after a medium or deep chemical peel since your new skin will be fragile.
